Sometimes it seems like winter in Utah lasts FOREVER,  so when summer finally arrives, we want to be ready, with a fully-loaded arsenal of fun, warm-weather activities for the whole family. Fifth Water Trail / Diamond Fork Hot Springs (2.5 – 4 miles)
Fifth Water / Diamond Fork Hot SpringsHot springs and three scenic waterfalls spilling into family-size pools create a delightful setting for an afternoon hike.

Foreman Hollow Nature Trail (4.3 miles)
Foreman Hollow
Signs along the trail identify plants, trees, and wildlife habitat. This well-maintained loop trail climbs through conifer and aspen forest and offers scenic views across Daniels Canyon as far as Strawberry Reservoir.

Cascade Springs Interpretive Trail (0.6 miles)
Cascade Springs
This interpreted oasis loops around a series of springs, streams and waterfalls that cascade and pool along paved pathways and raised boardwalks. The ponds contain abundant fish, and otters may also be seen occasionally.

Cecret Lake (1.5 miles)
Cecret Lake
A popular hike that runs through meadows full of wildflowers to a beautiful alpine lake. Along the way there are interpretive signs with information about the basin, its plants, animals and geology.

Twin Lakes & Lake Solitude (2.5 – 3 miles)
Twin Lakes
From Silver Lake at Brighton Ski Resort, trails lead to Twin Lakes and beautiful snow-cap surrounded Lake Solitude. Both trails wind through scenic forests and up moderately steep ridges. You can also do a loop hike past all those lakes.

Stewart Falls (3.5 miles)
Stewart FallsThis is one of the most scenic, and photogenic, waterfalls in northern Utah. It falls in two tiers, and is over 200 feet tall. It’s a moderate hike through a beautiful forest that is great in the summer but even better with fall colors.

Ensign Peak (1 mile)
Ensign Peak
An easy hike up to the point where Brigham Young and other pioneer leaders stood to lay out in their minds, the city they intended to build. From the top, enjoy a breathtaking view of Salt Lake City and on across the valley.

Cops & Robbers on the Heber Valley Railroad
Heber Valley Cowboys

Guided trips down these rapids last from an hour to an hour and a half depending on water levels and some outfitters offer multi-activity packages that include a mountain bike adventure. The rapids aren’t big but there a re a lot of them and many very close to each other making it an exhilarating and unique excursion.
